Well, its about time, but we finally have great fishing conditions river-wide. There is an enormous amount of bug activity and fish are starting to look up for dry flies. Dry/Dropper rigs have been very effective and we have seen a variety of Stoneflies and lots and lots of Gray Drakes. Caddis are abundant and we are starting to see a few smaller mayflies. Our float season is off to a great start but we are getting booked up really fast, so make sure to book your dates ASAP. If you are looking to float on your own, stop in for some flies and pick up a float map created by the local San Luis Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Get a great map and help your local chapter at the same time! The small creeks are all clearing up and fishing well. Come in and pick up some hot flies, and check our app for secrets!
